Freddy Kreuger is a household name, whether it be from the original “A Nightmare on Elm Street” or the later “Freddy vs. Jason.” With this, Robert Englund — the actor who played the horror icon in eight of the nine iterations — became well known across the country.

April BOT meeting: New master’s program, student awards, advancement update
The April 20 Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting recognized four student award recipients, introduced a new master’s degree in finance and featured a report from board student liaisons Mallory Kean and Red Douglas.

The Klein Center for Culture and Globalization welcomed Mike Chinoy to Oakland University on March 31 to discuss his experience covering U.S.-China relations, the history of journalism within China and to promote his new book “Assignment China.”

Presidential slates met one last time before voting as vice presidential and presidential candidates debated against each other for election to Oakland University’s Student Congress (OUSC) office. Moderated by Jeremy Johnson, candidates were asked questions on topics like tuition, campus safety, food on campus and the relationship with administration.

During the recent debates for Oakland University Student Congress (OUSC) president and vice president, a big topic of discussion was the relationship between OUSC and the Student Activities Funding Board (SAFB).

Battle of the Bands features four OU bands
The Habitat was filled with music, fans and good vibes on March 22 when the Student Program Board (SPB) hosted their annual Battle of the Bands. Four bands performed in front of the students, with music ranging from metal to Japanese rock.
